But what does it mean for bureaucrats to work “objectively”? Yael Assor will present her doctoral research\, in which she examined this question through fieldwork with a group of Israeli medical bureaucrats.  Focusing on four central meanings these bureaucrats gave to working objectively\, Assor traced how these meanings oriented their everyday work and considered its effects on policy decisions and dynamics of power between Israeli bureaucracy and its subjects.
