Former Chair Alessandro Duranti Highlights Innovative and Unusual Anthropology/WAC Course

Former Chair (and Dean of Social Sciences) Alessandro Duranti has made available on YouTube videos of the sessions form an innovative and unusual Anthropology/WAC course which he taught four times with Kenny Burrell.

The course was called “The Culture of Jazz Aesthetics” and it was meant to expose students to jazz while also documenting what its practitioners said and did. The first year (2002) Professor Duranti received support from the (then) Office of Instructional Development to record it and professionally produce 8 sessions in DVD format. He has now uploaded those sessions to a channel under his name. The session with Kenny Burrell as guest already has over 12,000 viewers.
