Partnership UCLA

Providing professional development through collaborative instruction and community engagement.

Partnership UCLA builds connections with UCLA alumni and friends to help students develop academic and professional skills in preparation for life after university. We provide experiential learning and real-world experiences through a variety of programs, including:

Sharpe Fellows Internship Program

The Sharpe Fellows internship program supports the career development needs of undergraduate students at UCLA by bringing them together with top employers. Sharpe Fellows have accepted internships at Apple, Saatchi & Saatchi, the Walt Disney Company, Intel, GE, California State Assembly, Deloitte Consulting and more.

Bruin Development Academy

Helping students prepare for the world of work requires the support of our talented alumni network. Through intensive hands-on training sessions, participants learn valuable skills from today’s industry leaders. Academy topics have included Real World 101, Consulting, Law, and Entertainment.

UCLA Social Enterprise Academy

A six-month social entrepreneurship program where groups of UCLA students partner with participating social ventures to develop earned income opportunities and to present their ventures to potential investors. The program is designed to connect students with established nonprofit organizations in an experiential learning environment. Accomplished alumni and community professionals serve as guest instructors to help participants learn the basics of market research, operations, financial and business planning, marketing, SWOT analysis and pitching.

Life After the Degree

Distinguished alumni are invited to campus to share their experiences after graduation, often regarding a specific industry or career paths in general. These sessions, followed by Q&A and/or a reception, are always interactive and informative. Topics have included careers in entertainment, dream jobs in physical sciences and more.

Bruin in Residence Program

Bruin in Residence program is designed to enrich student learning by further integrating accomplished business and community leaders into the UCLA community. Students have the opportunity to attend guest lectures, career talks, office hours, résumé reviews and more.

Industry Based Networking Nights

Industry-based networking nights give students the opportunity to learn about careers in particular industries by conversing and interacting with UCLA alumni in informal round-table discussions. Networking nights include Entertainment Networking Night, Nonprofit Networking Night, Finance Networking Night and Public Service Networking Night.
