Kimberly is responsible for department operations. She oversees fiscal, personnel and payroll, student, instructional and information technology services for the department. She manages departmentally controlled space, budgets and events.

Drew Patterson is Anthropology’s Academic Personnel Analyst handles academic employment, payroll and merit/promotion actions for faculty (tenure/tenure track), leave of absences, sabbatical requests and visa/permanent resident processing for faculty and visitors.
Victor Sepulveda – Front Office Coordinator

Victor is responsible for scheduling of department-controlled instructional equipment, seminar and conference room space. He processes parking requests for visitors who come to campus for departmental events and serve as the department parking coordinator. He also assigns copy codes to graduate printing accounts. Victor assists faculty and staff with fax, copy, and scanning needs. He supervises the work-study students who are assigned to the front office. He processes reimbursements and manages department keys.
Myrna Dee Castillo Kikuchi – Undergraduate Advisor

The undergraduate advisor counsels our approximately 600 current and prospective Anthropology major and minor students. The undergraduate advisor handles grade changes, academic revisions, processes petitions, and refers students to other University resources. The undergraduate advisor represents the department at Major Blast, Freshmen Bruin Day, Transfer Bruin Day, and other campus events, and coordinates the Anthropology commencement ceremony in June.
Effective Fall 2024, in-person drop-in advising will take place as follows (subject to change without notice):
- Mondays | 9:00AM – 11:00AM and 1:00PM – 3:00PM
- Wednesdays | 9:00AM – 12:00PM
- Thursdays | 9:00AM – 11:00AM and 1:00PM – 3:00PM

The Graduate Advisor advises graduate students on University and departmental requirements for the graduate program and works closely with the Vice Chair for Graduate Studies. They are your resource for help dealing with all the logistical issues that come with being a graduate student. They coordinates admissions, orientation, monitors student progress to degree, manages graduate student support allocations for the academic year, and plans the M.A. and Ph.D. celebration event in June. They also processes employment and payroll for Teaching Apprentices (academic year/quarter appointments), Readers, and Postdoctoral Scholars.

Tracy supports faculty in hiring of graduate and undergraduate research assistants. She processes purchases, reimbursements, entertainment, travel reimbursements, travel vouchers. She provides faculty with current information about their account activity and balances. Tracy assists graduate students in submission of NSF dissertation proposals and other, UC funded grants required to be processed through the Office of Contracts and Grants. Tracy also hires work-study students for the department.
Jason Liang – Technology Analyst

Jason provides computer hardware and software support and repair for Anthropology faculty, staff, and graduate students. Additionally, see them for help with email, websites, networks, and printing. The technology analyst also purchases computers, electronics, and software, and assists with UCLA-wide computing issues.
