Akhil Gupta Awarded 2014 Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy Book Prize
Professor Akhil Gupta has been awarded the Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy Book Prize for 2014 for his book, Red Tape: Bureaucracy, Structural Violence, and Poverty in India. The award will be presented at the Annual Meetings of the Association of Asian Studies on March 28. The award recognizes distinguished scholarship in South Asian studies that “either promises to define or redefine” our understanding of an entire subject area.
