Hundreds tuned in for Monica L. Smith’s recent talks, which kicked off the second season of our popular Archaeology Abridged series. Monica is a professor in both the Department of Anthropology and the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UCLA, in addition to holding the Navin and Pratima Doshi Chair in Indian Studies and directing the South Asian Archaeology Laboratory at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. She’s served the AIA in a variety of capacities over the years, currently as an Academic Trustee on the AIA Governing Board, along with holding multiple committee appointments. In her talk earlier this month, Monica fascinated us with the history and archaeology of Indian cuisine. You won’t want to miss it!
